Bolillo Recipe Instant Yeast
Sprinkle yeast over the warm water in your mixing bowl give it a quick stir and let it sit until foamy.
Bolillo recipe instant yeast. Then with your pinky fingers. Place the ball of dough in a lightly oiled container cover with cling wrap and leave overnight. They must be kept dry at room temperature.
It absorbs liquid rapidly and doesnt need to be hydrated. You do not need a lot of things for this recipe just 7 simple ingredients. With instant yeast it doesnt need to be proofed before mixing into the flour.
Add 2 ½ cups flour and mix at low speed for 6 minutes to create the sponge for your bolillo. Add flour and salt to bowl. There is no fancy technique for using instant yeast.
After about 5 minutes stir in the honey lard and salt to the foamy yeast. Should bubble after 5 minutes to show yeast is working. Your bolillos are self-conscious and most comfortable blending in with all the other bolillos.
Take one ball turn it over and with your fingers start rolling the dough see video above tightly. This means a quarter-inch slit lengthwise. If you want to test the freshness of the yeast and not use it in a recipe mix 14 cup lukewarm water and one teaspoon instant yeast.
Let it stand a room temperature for 10 -15 minutes or longer on cold days. A bolillo or pan francés is a traditional bread made in Mexico. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides.
