Prime Rib Recipe Mustard
Take the roast out of the fridge approx 2 hours before cooking and pat dry with paper towels.
Prime rib recipe mustard. Preheat the oven to 500 degrees F see note. Coat the prime rib evenly with olive oil to allow the seasoning to adhere. While the grill is warming up prepare your roast.
Preheat oven to 450. Many choose to sear the roast and then place it in the oven but this creates a juicy interior without a crisp exterior. Preheat oven to 500F.
Preheat oven to 350. Once your grill is preheated place the roast on the grates ensuring the ribs are facing the back end of the grill. Preheat oven to 500F.
In a small saucepan over medium heat whisk together sour cream heavy cream yolks mustard vinegar sugar and ½ teaspoon salt. Preheat your grill to 225 degrees F. Roast for 10 minutes.
Roast rib for 3 to 3½ hours or until meat thermometer reads 135F 57C for medium-rare 4 hours or until meat thermometer reads 145F 62C for medium or until desired doneness. Place the roast in a pan large enough to hold it comfortably bone-side down. Evenly rub the seasoning all over coating the entire surface of the roast.
Brush evenly over top and sides of roast but not over bones mixture may seem loose but will. Combine garlic mustard and anchovy taste - mix well to combine and rub over the entire roast well. Combine salt black pepper whole grain mustard and garlic in a small bowl and mix well.
